2023 IMPACT

  • In 2023, HomeBase managed and distributed $5Million in funding went out to Cincinnati neighborhoods that supported everything from first time, affordable home buyers, community events, small business development, and real estate acquisition and development. Key Achievements in 2024

Expanding Funding for Neighborhood Development

  • VTICA Funds: The Voluntary Tax Incentive Contribution Agreement collected nearly $1 million for neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing. HomeBase awarded $33,500 in initial neighborhood grants, with $60,000 in upcoming community-led projects​.

  • Quick Strike Acquisition Fund: A $1 million investment across five neighborhoods secured key redevelopment sites, paving the way for $100 million in future development and 418 affordable and mixed-income housing units​.

Housing & Community Growth

  • Operating Support Grants (OSG):

    • $1.24 million invested in CDCs to enhance affordable housing and commercial development.

    • 981 neighborhood projects supported.

    • 8 new housing units and 102 vacant/rehabbed units completed.

    • 602 community events held, fostering engagement​.

  • Down Payment Assistance:

    • $29,900 awarded to help first-time homebuyers.

    • 100% of recipients were low-to-moderate-income buyers​.

Community Revitalization & Infrastructure

  • Neighborhood Business District & Public Realm Projects:

    • The Carthage Commons project advanced through design and community engagement, setting the stage for a transformative community space​.

    • Spring Grove Village will see major façade improvements to support local businesses and enhance economic vitality​.

Strengthening the CDC Ecosystem

  • Capacity Building & Leadership Training:

    • CDC Project Manager Fellowship launched, placing four students into CDCs to provide crucial support at no cost​.

    • Monthly Lunch & Learns hosted experts from urban design, finance, and public policy, educating over 50 participants from 30+ organizations​.

  • Strategic Planning for the Future:

    • Released the CDC & Neighborhood Capacity Analysis, a five-year roadmap to strengthen CDCs through expanded funding, talent attraction, and policy advocacy​.
